Zami (ザミー, Samī) and Tongari (トンガリ, Tongari) are a minor ancient mamodo team. Zami's spells are based on Laser.

Appearance[]

Zami is a non-humanoid mamodo with a squat, beast-like build covered in thick, woolly fur. Its body is primarily pale gray to beige, with darker shading on the limbs and torso. The most distinctive features are his oversized, curved forearms, which resemble large, blue-and-yellow bladed claws extending well beyond the hands. Zami has long, sturdy legs ending in clawed feet, giving him a heavy, grounded stance. Its head is partially obscured by dense fur, with a small, recessed face.

Tongari is a tall, slender human male with exaggerated proportions and a sharp, angular silhouette. He has extremely tall, cone-shaped brown hair styled straight upward, forming his most recognizable feature. Tongari wears a dark green, high-collared jacket paired with light-colored trousers and black shoes, giving him a rigid, formal appearance. His facial features are narrow and severe, with thin eyebrows and a pointed chin.

Personality[]

Tongari is a man which mind is brainwashed by Zofis. Expression sheets depict him alternating between smug confidence, irritation, and exaggerated rage.

Biography[]

Background[]

Zami participated in the previous battle 1,000 years ago to decide the Mamodo King. At some point during the battle, Zami ran into Goren of the Stone and Maurice and was turned into a stone tablet by his spell, Dioga Gorugojio. After being trapped in a stone tablet for 1,000 years, Zami was returned to his body by Zofis when he used the Stone of Moonlight on him and the other ancient mamodo trapped in stone. Tongari is not Zami’s original partner and, under normal circumstances, would be unable to read the spellbook or activate its spells. However, through Zofis’ mental manipulation, the cognitive dissonance between the descendants and the spellbook was forcibly synchronized. This artificial alignment allows Tongari to read and cast the spells as though he were Zami’s rightful partner.

Part I[]

Zami and Tongari first appear inside the Devolo Ruins, allied with Jobin and Mukaron, where they confront Zatch Bell, Tia, Wonrei, Ponygon, Kido, and their human partners. Tongari casts Gou Gairon but Megumi counters by casting Seushiru, forming a defensive barrier that blocks their attack. Wonrei leaps into the air as Li-en casts Garu Redoruku, accelerating Wonrei into a high-speed drill that sends him crashing into Zami and Tongari and knocking them backward. They later appear outside the Devolo Ruins with most of the remaining ancient mamodo and battle Brago and Sherry. Zami's spellbook is burned during the fight.
