Those Who Won't Become King. Do or Die! Wonrei. The Last Iron Fist is the one hundred and fortieth episode of Konjiki no Gash Bell!! anime and the thirty fortieth episode of Season 3.
Synopsis[]
Wonrei and Li-en stay behind to fight Rodeux and Chita, allowing their other allies to continue heading towards Faudo’s control room. Wonrei has the upperhand in his battle until Rodeux calls on Riou to activate Faudo’s support system, creating clones of him to attack both Wonrei and Li-en. Wonrei, being concerned for Li-en, causes him to be vulnerable to attacks, leading to him being overwhelmed by Rodeux’s power. Knowing that they must win the battle however, Li-en assures Wonrei that he doesn’t need to protect her this time and that he must continue fighting without worrying over her.
Full Summary[]
Wonrei faces Rodeaux
Wonrei and Li-en stay behind to face Rodeaux and Chita while allowing Zatch and his allies to escape in search of Faudo’s control room. Enraged that Wonrei let the others get away, Rodeaux initiates the battle and orders Chita to cast spells. Wonrei easily evades Rodeaux’s attacks and dominates in close combat with his martial arts. Meanwhile, from Zatch’s perspective, he appears worried about leaving Wonrei behind and asks Kiyo if they made the right choice. Kiyo hesitates, but Aly assures Zatch that it was necessary, reminding him that their priority is stopping Faudo and that this was also Wonrei’s wish, since he felt he needed to atone for his past betrayal.
Arth's group discuss who should fight the enemy teams
Elsewhere, Arth’s group continues forward as Arth cuts down the demonic creatures produced by Faudo’s defenses and seals them behind a door. Before they can rest, two Mamodo, Fango and Jedun, appear with their partners and challenge them. Arth and Elly volunteer to fight them, but Sunbeam and Sauza argue that Arth and Elly must instead focus on reaching the control room. Sunbeam and Sauza both insist on taking the battle themselves, leading to a disagreement.
Li-en attacked by Rodeaux's clones
Back at Wonrei’s battle, Rodeaux requests Riou to activate Faudo’s support system, which creates clones of him to overwhelm the enemy. Wonrei fends them off until several target Li-en, forcing him to leave himself open. Rodeaux seizes the chance to strike him with a spell. Even as Wonrei retaliates with his own spells, Rodeaux shields himself with clones, and Li-en is grabbed once more. Rodeaux blasts both Wonrei and Li-en, leaving them injured. Despite his wounds, Wonrei struggles to stand, determined to hold Rodeaux off for the others. Seeing him beaten down while protecting her, Li-en remembers all the times he defended her and decides to return the favor. As Wonrei is restrained, she casts Gou Redoruk to free him.
Li-en by Wonrei's side
Rushing to his side, Li-en tells Wonrei to focus only on fighting at full strength while she fights with him. She insists that he no longer needs to protect her, and that she will stand beside him. Encouraged, Wonrei accepts her words and continues the battle with renewed determination. He charges Rodeaux directly, shocking him by ignoring the clones and landing a blow with Rofure Dibaruen. Li-en follows up with Raou Dibaruen, and together they appear to have defeated Rodeaux.
Wonrei and Li-en prepare to use their strongest spell
Chita, however, warns Rodeaux that their opponents now lack any clear weakness, but Rodeaux refuses to concede. He calls upon Faudo’s power, infusing Chita with it and causing his spellbook to radiate a sinister light. Sensing danger, Wonrei tells Li-en to escape, fearing their victory is uncertain against such evil power. Li-en refuses, affirming that she is fully committed to fighting with him no matter the outcome. Their bond strengthens, and Wonrei’s spellbook shines brightly in response. Both teams then unleash their ultimate spells: Rodeaux and Chita cast Dioga Ragyuuru, while Wonrei and Li-en counter with Goraio Dibaruen.
Li-en appearing all alone after Wonrei's spellbook was burned
The clash creates a massive light that engulfs the battlefield. Li-en, blinded, suddenly sees Wonrei’s memories of their life together and his determination to protect her happiness. Even as the overwhelming force threatens to consume them, Wonrei continues to shield her with his body. The impact is felt even by Zatch’s group far away. When the light fades, Li-en is left alone—Wonrei’s spellbook has been burned. Tearfully, she realizes that Wonrei once again protected her until the end. The only trace of him left is his headband, which she clutches to her chest as she weeps, mourning his sacrifice and honoring the promise they shared to protect everyone.
