Konjiki no Gash Bell!! Unare! Yūjō no Zakeru Dream Tag Tournament (金色のガッシュベル!! うなれ!友情の
Information[]
Konjiki no Gashbell!! Yuujou no Dengeki Dream Tag Tournament is a versus style fighting video game, where the characters of the Zatch Bell! anime series compete . The fighters included were taken from the 3rd season of the anime (the Faudo stage). This installment changes the gameplay style quite a bit with respect to its predecessors that used a pair of humans and mamodos fighting together. Instead, it uses a more traditional one-on-one system, where the mamodos fight alone and their human partners can be fleetingly summoned to assist in a special attack.
The game's biggest new feature is that the player chooses two different mamodos to form a dream team and battle against two enemy mamodos. However, these mamodos don't fight together, nor can they be swapped during the fight, and can only be swapped at the end of the round. However, inactive mamodos can be summoned just like human companions for quick assistance.
The game features colorful, vibrant anime-style graphics and highly detailed and polished animations that surpass all previous Zatch Bell games on the GBA . Also notable are the elaborate background scenes filled with cameos from characters from the anime. The game's music includes a new repertoire of soft, multi-genre tracks. Character voices, heard during combat, are also included, performed by the original anime voice actors.
The gameplay maintains the simple style, with no button sequences to memorize, that characterizes the fighting games in this series. The difficulty is relatively low, and even on its hardest setting, it can be overcome by an average player. It also features a two-player versus mode and a simple minigame mode.
Mechanics[]
Each pair consists of a mamodo and their human bookkeeper. The player controls only the mamodo, while the human remains out of the picture and only appears when called upon to assist with an attack.
In each fight, the objective is to attack the enemy to reduce their health bar. When this bar is depleted, the character is defeated. Fights can also be decided by time; when the time limit for a fight expires, the character with the highest amount of health wins. Each fight in the game is decided by the winner of two of three rounds, although the number of rounds can be changed in the options menu. Before each battle, the player decides which of their two mamodos will fight in each round, and can also choose to have only one fight. However, it is not possible to switch mamodos during a fight.
The game allows you to perform various types of attacks easily by pressing one or two buttons. Mamodos have different types of normal attacks, spells, and combos, and they can also cover themselves to receive minimal or no damage when attacked.
Fighters also have two energy meters at the bottom of the screen: The first is the classic power bar that charges when hitting an enemy or also when taking damage. This is used to use special attacks that are spells or more powerful blows that consume power. The other meter is a numerical counter; it goes up 1 point each time the player hits an enemy and when it reaches 10, it lights up one of the three red lights next to the meter. The lights allow the use of summoning, with which the player can call on their human partner, or also the mamodo partner of their team, to help with a quick movement. Each character performs a different action when summoned, such as special attacks, spells or healing.
When the energy bar fills up and all three lights are lit, the character can use a finishing spell. This is a gigantic, unblockable special attack that deals severe damage to the opponent.
