Kalura (カルーラ Karūra) and Marlené Yanenz (マレーネ・ヤネンツ Marēne Yanentsu) are a minor Ancient Mamodo team from the Ancient Mamodo Arc. Kalura’s spells are based on Roses.
Appearance[]
Kalura is a mamodo with a childlike build and an elegant yet whimsical appearance. She has long, voluminous green hair that curls into large, spiraling locks, flowing outward and down to the ground, almost like vines or tendrils. Her eyes are large, almond-shaped, and strikingly yellow, giving her an intense gaze. She wears a bright yellow dress with red trim and accents, the upper part fitted with scalloped details at the sleeves and waistline. The skirt is pleated and flows into curled ends resembling extensions of her hair. On her feet, she wears red strapped shoes, completing her colorful and vibrant look.
Marlené is a tall, mature woman with a serious and composed demeanor. She has short, straight brown hair parted in the middle, framing her stern face with blue eyes. She wears a professional outfit consisting of a purple blazer over a yellow blouse, paired with a matching purple skirt.

Not much is known about Marlené's personality due to her mind being controlled by Zofis.

Background[]
Kalura participated in the previous battle 1,000 years ago to decide the Mamodo King. At some point during the battle, Kalura ran into Goren of the Stone and Maurice and was turned into a stone tablet by his spell, Dioga Gorugojio.
Part I[]
After being trapped in a stone table for 1,000 years, Kalura was returned to her body by Zofis when he used the Stone of Moonlight on her and the other ancient mamodo trapped in stone. Kalura and Marlené initially appear in a squad that was sent to Japan and lead by Byonko. Kalura and the team fight Baransha, and burn her spellbook. Later, they are only seen while they were attacking Tia and Megumi, as well as Wonrei and Li-en, but ultimately get their book burned by Dr. Riddles.
