Goren of the Stone (石のゴーレン Ishi no Goren) and Maurice (モーリス Mōrisu) are an Ancient Mamodo team from 1000 year ago who held the power of encasing other mamodo into stone instead of sending them back to the Mamodo World. Goren is known to be a manipulator, as he used fear to stop others such as Pamoon from attacking. Goren was considered to be the most powerful threat in the previous battle to determine King of Mamodo World.

Stone

A mamodo transformed into a stone tablet by Goren

Some of the Mamodos from a thousand year ago include Victoream, Laila, Dalmos, Belgim E.O., Dogmos, Erujo, Badios, Kamakku, Gelios, Tsaoron, Pamoon, and Demolt among others.

Although he did turn around half of the Mamodos in the competition into stone, he did not become King, as he was defeated by Dauwan Bell and Willy, along with three other mamodo teams.[1]

Appearance[]

Goren of the Stone[]

Goren's physical appearance is that of a mix of multiple creatures. Most of his body is similar to a centaur (which is a half-man/half-horse creature) while Goren's head is similar to Medusa's as his hair is made out of snakes and that his spells involve petrifaction. He also had a cobra-headed tail.

Maurice[]

Maurice has black hair and wears a black robe.

Trivia[]

  • Goren's spells and abilities may be a reference to the Gorgon Medusa in Greek Mythology as they both have snake hair and is able to turn people into stone.
  • Goren makes a cameo in a flashback as one of Beliel's revived warriors who were sent to kill Brago.[2]
  • Goren’s starting location from the previous battle was possibly France. Due to Maurice’s name being a common French name.
