Synopsis[]
Arth and Elly are the first to arrive just outside of Faudo’s control room. There, Riou confronts Arth about his family’s involvement in sealing away Faudo and reasserts his belief that Faudo’s power was always meant to be used. Arth’s allies hurry towards the control room in order to regroup with him as soon as possible but on the way, Riou blocks their paths and uses Faudo’s defense system to eliminate them. It is then up to Arth to be able to defeat Riou and save his allies.
Full Summary[]
Arth and Elly are the first to reach the area outside of the control room
Ted passes out after using one of his strongest spells to defeat Faudo’s Heart Guardian. Jeed tells Kiyo and the others to go on ahead without him as he plans to stay behind and look after Ted. Kiyo expresses concern about leaving them alone, but Tia, Megumi, and Li-en volunteer to stay and help protect them in case anything happens. Kiyo, Zatch, Alishie, and Riya then part ways with the others and head toward Faudo’s control room. At the same time, Folgore’s group also hurries to the same destination after managing to get away from their battle with Keith thanks to Bari’s help. Meanwhile, Arth and Ellie reach the area just outside of the control room where Riou appears before them. Riou confronts Arth about his opposition to using Faudo’s power. He then reveals that while Arth’s family were the ones responsible for sealing away Faudo, it was Riou’s family who continued to look after Faudo thereafter. The two are shown to have a history together, as Riou had once approached Arth at the beginning of the battle to explain his plan to use Faudo. At that time, Riou asked Arth to lend him his power to destroy Faudo’s seal, but Arth refused, which later led Riou to forcibly place a curse on Ellie to force Arth’s cooperation. Arth asserts that Faudo’s power is one that should never be used, but Riou insists that carefully protected power is meant to be wielded.
Bari and Keith's battle in the Mamodo World
Realizing there’s no reasoning with Riou, Arth prepares to fight. Before he can act, Riou pulls up a display on a keypad showing Arth’s allies on their way to regroup with him. Riou gloats that everything had gone according to his plan, as he had successfully separated Arth from the others. Using the keypad, he blocks Arth’s allies from advancing any further and activates Faudo’s defense system to create demonic creatures to attack them. The battle between Arth and Riou then begins. At first, Arth seems to have the upper hand, avoiding Riou’s spells and striking him directly with Jyan Ji Sword. Meanwhile, during Bari’s battle with Keith, Bari becomes furious when Keith reminds him of the time he had defeated him back in the Mamodo World. A flashback is shown, revealing that the “battle” was actually a potato tempura eating contest, which Keith had proposed after Bari claimed he would accept any kind of challenge. In that contest, Keith easily defeated Bari by eating more tempura.
Arth uses Gyan Bagyamu Sorudon
Returning to Arth’s fight, Riou is still able to stand even after taking Jyan Ji Sword directly. He then calls on Raushin Mo in the control room to activate a healing light, restoring him to full strength. With this advantage, Riou can now heal himself endlessly, but Arth and Ellie resolve to defeat him before he can recover again. After clashing spells, Arth uses Gyan Bagyamu Swordon to counter Riou’s Fanon Riou Dio. An explosion follows, but Riou once again heals himself using Faudo’s recovery device. Meanwhile, Keith and Bari’s battle continues until Keith finally decides to end it with his most powerful spell, Dioga Ginisudon. Bari defends himself with Zorushield, resulting in a massive explosion. When the smoke clears, Bari is still standing and ready to fight. Keith, however, is out of energy, as confirmed by Berun. Before the two can retreat to eat potato tempura, Bari attacks them directly with Gigano Zonisu, defeating them. Frustrated with the encounter, Bari leaves.
Riou uses multiple spells at once
Back in the control room battle, Arth manages to separate Riou from the recovery device, but Riou retaliates with a barrage of spells. Arth withstands the onslaught and prepares to strike with one final attack. When he calls to Ellie to cast a spell, there’s no response. Arth glances over to see her collapsed, completely exhausted from using all her energy. Looking at the monitors, Arth also sees that his allies are nearly out of strength against Faudo’s defense system. Accepting the situation, Arth tells Ellie that their only hope now lies with Zatch’s Bao and the friends who will fight alongside him. Understanding his resolve, Ellie allows Arth to carry out his desperate plan to support Zatch and his allies.
Zatch and Kiyo prepare to fight Riou
At that moment, Arth rushes toward the control panel, enduring Riou’s relentless attacks as he pushes forward. Taking blow after blow, he still manages to reach the controls, where he unlocks the doors blocking his allies’ paths and deactivates Faudo’s defense system. By the time everyone reaches the area outside the control room, they witness Riou finishing Arth off with one final spell. The impact knocks Ellie back, and a small flame begins to burn on Arth’s spellbook. As he fades away, Arth entrusts Zatch with the responsibility of carrying on. Ellie, tearfully saying goodbye, tells Arth she will never forget him. When Arth finally disappears, Riou laughs and declares that everything Arth had done was meaningless. Furious at losing their ally, Zatch, Kiyo, and the others steel themselves for their next battle against Riou.
