Aim for the Brain! Roaring Faudo. Desperate Re-entry (脳を目指せ! 爆走ファウード 必死の再突入, Nō wo Mezase Bakusō Faūdo Hisshin no Saitotsunyū) is the 139th episode of the Konjiki no Gash Bell!! Anime and first aired in Japan on January 8, 2006. This is the last episode of the anime’s Faudo arc that refers to the manga, and all events that transpire in the remaining episodes are entirely anime exclusive.
Synopsis[]
With only six hours left until Faudo reaches Japan, Zatch, Kiyo, and their allies finally catch up with the colossal demon as it swims toward its destination and re-enter him through his mouth. After locating a shortcut to Faudo’s spinal cord, they ride the elevator inside him upward until they reach an open corridor lined with multiple passageways. Upon discovering that two of these passageways lead toward the control room in Faudo’s brain, the group decides to split into two teams. Kiyo and Arth are chosen as the leaders of each, as they are the only ones capable of operating Faudo’s internal computer systems. With their paths diverging, the two teams head off in opposite directions, hoping to reunite at the control room. As they move forward, Wonrei reflects on his earlier betrayal of his allies and begins to question his worthiness to become king.

Zaruchim gives Riou the time estimate for when Faudo will reach Japan
Zatch, Kiyo, and their allies race toward Faudo as he swims toward Japan. In the middle of this desperate situation, Kiyo and Zatch reaffirm their resolve to stop Faudo no matter what and ensure that nobody has to die from his rampage. Inside Faudo’s control room, Riou and Zaruchim watch the group’s approach, preparing for their return. From the outside, Kiyo instructs everyone to enter through Faudo’s mouth when he opens wide to take a breath. To create an opening, Kanchomé distracts Faudo with Dikaporuku, giving everyone the chance to rush in before the jaws close. They make it inside just in time, but before they can catch their breath, Faudo swallows a massive wave of ocean water, forcing the group to run toward the chamber at the back of his throat, where the giant anatomical map of his body is displayed. From there, Kiyo leads them through a series of passages until they reach Faudo’s spine and take the elevator within it, rising toward the upper spinal cord.

Meanwhile, in the control room, Zaruchim confirms their location to Riou, who remains unfazed. He reasons that since he knows their objective, he can prepare accordingly. Still, Zarchim privately feels a growing unease, as if he has forgotten something important. From the group’s perspective, the elevator delivers them into a vast corridor lined with multiple branching paths. Kiyo asks Momon to identify which one leads to the control room, but Momon points out that two separate passageways head upward and cannot tell which is correct. With no other choice, Kiyo suggests splitting into two teams. He and Arth are chosen to lead, as they are the only ones able to operate Faudo’s computers. Kiyo’s team consists of Zatch, Wonrei, Li-en, Megumi, Tia, Alishie, and Riya, while Arth’s team is made up of Elly, Karudio, Sauza, Ponygon, Sunbeam, Folgore, Kanchomé, Elle, and Momon. With no time to waste, the two groups set off in different directions, hoping at least one will reach the control room in time. As they move, Wonrei quietly approaches Kiyo and shares his feelings of guilt for betraying his allies earlier to save Li-en. He admits he has been questioning his worthiness to become king. Kiyo reassures him, telling him that his choices now—standing and fighting by his own will—prove his worth.
Kiyo responds to Wonrei's feelings of betrayal to the group
Encouraged by Kiyo’s words, Wonrei promises that he will protect everyone, even if it costs him his life. Meanwhile, Arth’s team travels down their corridor only to be attacked when Faudo’s defense system activates, summoning demonic creatures. To conserve the others’ energy, Arth fights alone with his sword. For every monster he cuts down, more appear, but he continues to carve a path forward for his allies. Elsewhere, Kiyo’s team enters another chamber only to be confronted by Rodeux, who had been waiting for them. Disappointed to see their numbers diminished, he challenges them all at once. Wonrei, however, steps forward and declares that he will face Rodeux alone. He tells the others to go on without him, saying that after betraying them, he no longer has the right to aim for the throne. Instead, his role now is to protect those destined to be king. Zatch and Tia hesitate, not wanting to abandon him, but Alishie reminds them that their mission is to escort Kiyo safely to the control room and that time is short.
Li-en assures everyone that she and Wonrei will be okay
Assured by Wonrei’s determination, Zatch agrees and promises to meet him again soon. Rodeux immediately attacks with Gigano Ragyuuru, but Wonrei blocks the spell, protecting everyone. Urging them to move on, he holds the line as the group runs past. Rodeux prepares another attack, but Wonrei counters with Gou Redoruku, pushing him back. As they square off, Wonrei apologizes to Li-en for staying behind. She refuses to leave him, reminding him that they are partners and that she has chosen to fight by his side no matter what. At the same time, elsewhere within Faudo, Zeno and Dufort are revealed to have infiltrated as well, secretly observing the movements of everyone inside.

- In the anime, Riou states it will take 6 hours for Faudo to reach Japan while in the manga, it will take only 1 hour.
- All events that transpire in this episode and remaining episodes after Zatch, Kiyo, and their allies re-enter Faudo are entirely anime exclusive and no longer follow the events shown in the manga.
