Synopsis[]
It is the first day of the new year. Kanchomé and Parco Folgore come to Kiyo's house to tell him of a dream he had. In his dream, Victoream and Mohawk Ace scale a mountain and obtain the "Very Melon" spell, which grants him a wish from Makoto Raiku. Victoream wishes a movie could be made about him. Folgore wakes up and soon receives a call telling him he is a director of a movie. Folgore shares the ideas of the movie with Kiyo, Zatch, and Ponygon. His first idea involves the secret agent, Folgore, who combats the evil villains led by Victoream. His second idea involves Victoream and his servants Zatch, Tia, Ponygon, and Kiyo. His third idea is a journey where Victoream searches for V-shaped melons. His fourth idea involves Victoream battling Belgim E.O., whom he defeats with his new spell "Very Melon". Folgore finishes his story and realizes no one is listening. Kiyo, annoyed with Folgore, kicks him out of the house.
Full Summary[]
The new year begins with Kiyo, Zatch, and Umagon at home enjoying the last of their holiday leftovers. Their peaceful start is suddenly interrupted when Folgore and Kanchomé drop by unannounced, claiming that Folgore has an incredible story to share. After some coaxing, Kiyo reluctantly lets them in, and Folgore eagerly begins recounting a strange dream he had. One night, while setting his alarm clock, he was reminded of Victoream when he noticed the hands forming a V-shape. That thought alone led him into a dream where Victoream and his partner Mohican Ace set out on a bizarre quest to find and eat a magical wish-granting melon. After overcoming trials and reaching the fruit, Victoream devoured it, summoning the god Makoto Raiku, who promised to grant him one wish. Victoream’s first wish for another melon was denied—Raiku had already eaten it—so instead, Victoream wished for a movie to be made about himself. Just as Raiku agreed, Folgore awoke, left with only the memory of Victoream’s eccentric dream adventure. While Zatch and Umagon listen with fascination, Kiyo quickly grows impatient, but Folgore presses on, insisting that the dream soon began to come true.
Raiku offers to grant Victoream one wish
Not long afterward, Folgore received a call from a Hollywood producer who wanted to create a feature film starring him. Convinced this was the fulfillment of Victoream’s wish, Folgore explained that he had even been appointed director. Now visiting Kiyo, he asked for feedback on his ideas for the movie. His first concept featured himself as a daring spy infiltrating enemy territory to rescue a hostage, with his enemies played by Zatch, Tia, Umagon, and, of course, Victoream. From there, his wild imagination spiraled into even more outlandish scenarios.
In one sequence, Victoream performed his melon dance but, finding himself without any melons, ordered Zatch to fetch some. When none could be found, Kiyo attempted to engage Victoream with questions instead. In response, Victoream decided to hold a spontaneous Q&A session, fielding questions about himself and how others might achieve a “V-shape” like his own. As Folgore animatedly told this part of the story, Kiyo quietly slipped away, uninterested. Soon after, Tia arrived and admitted she had been listening for a while, unimpressed. She bluntly told Folgore that his movie needed a heroine, prompting him to rework his plot once more.
In Folgore’s revised version, Victoream received a postcard from Leila, promising that V-shaped melons were being grown in the Japanese countryside. Eager for such melons, Victoream traveled there with his companions, only to find that Leila had deceived him. When this idea also failed to impress, Folgore concocted yet another addition: this time, Victoream received a postcard from Belgim E.O, who claimed to have taken a female hostage. Determined to save her, Victoream and the others confronted Belgim E.O and his partner Dalia in a schoolyard, only to find that he had actually captured three hostages—Suzie, Wife, and Big Boing. A fierce battle broke out, with Belgim E.O overwhelming the group. To turn the tide, Victoream prepared his strongest spell, Chāguru Imisudon, while Zatch and the others fought desperately to buy him time, each one being defeated in turn. At last, Victoream unleashed his spell, but Belgim E.O’s Dioga Ryuusudon overpowered it. Just as all seemed lost, Zatch appeared with a melon. Victoream took a bite while striking his iconic V-pose, which inspired the birth of a brand-new spell: Baberuga Very Melon. With it, he launched a massive melon attack that crushed Belgim E.O, ending the battle in a triumphant finale.
As Folgore wrapped up his grand pitch, he looked around to see that everyone had wandered off. Moments later, Hana called everyone to the kitchen for lunch, where Kiyo, Zatch, and Umagon discovered that Tia had prepared the meal—and, surprisingly, it turned out delicious. The episode ends with Folgore and Kanchomé watching from the sidelines, scribbling down more outlandish movie notes, only to be promptly thrown out of the house by a fed-up Kiyo.
